Cluster: Membership on list is required for cluster users

In order to have an efficient way to contact all cluster users, all accounts created for cluster users will also add users’ email addresses to the “” email list.

This list is used to announce planned maintenance schedules, notify users of persistent performance problems, emergency actions, and the like. Only systems administrators and cluster computing staff are able to post messages to this list. The hpc-announce@duke.eduĀ email list membership is required for cluster users, meaning that removal from the list means the removal of access to cluster resources. To have yourself removed from the cluster users, contact theĀ “Point-of-Contact” (POC) for your cluster group.

The list also is used as a source for the periodic email newsletter from Duke Research Computing, though users can remove their emails from that list.
