To make your online life easier and safer, Duke is now sponsoring a LastPass Premium account for all students, faculty, and staff.
LastPass is a password manager that helps you centrally manage your passwords by saving them to an easy-to-use vault. Once installed in your browsers, LastPass facilitates logging into your sites by prompting you to save logins and filling them for you. If you sign up for new accounts, it will help you generate long, strong passwords. You can also set-up profiles for super-fast online shopping and payment.
LastPass takes the thinking out of passwords. You remember one master password and LastPass remembers the rest.
If you already have a LastPass account, log in and visit the link in step 4 to upgrade your current account.
- If you don’t already have a LastPass account, create one by visiting https://lastpass.com/misc_download.php
This needs to be done from a computer. NOT a phone or a tablet!
- Create a strong master password.
- Login to LastPass by clicking on the gray LastPass asterisk/logo in your browser.
- Visit https://lastpass.com/duke/ to upgrade your account to LastPass premium for free for a year.
Accounts may be renewed annually at the link in step 4.
